Every Tuesday at 5:30p, the Maine Prisoner Advocacy Coalition meets via Zoom to evaluate our legislative priorities and develop a strategic action plan. This weekly meeting is open to the public and serves as a platform for discussing recent developments in legislation, reviewing current bills, assessing their implications, and aligning actions with the needs of incarcerated individuals, and their families. It’s also an opportunity to learn how to effectively engage with lawmakers to influence positive change within Maine’s carceral system. We believe community collaboration is essential, as insights and experiences are shared to strengthen our advocacy efforts for a more equitable and just criminal legal system in Maine.
