Showing the stories of individuals hidden from society allows us to see humanity where we’re told there is none. People in prison are whole people, more than the act that landed them in prison. Centering the lives of incarcerated people gives them agency as changemakers in our national conversation of conflict resolution and harm reduction. From cherished memories to imagined landscapes, the range of creative expression made by people living in confinement helps us begin to envision a world where everyone can be free.
