Restorative Justice Convening at Colby Collage
MPAC joined more than a hundred advocates from the Restorative and Transformative Justice community for an all-day convening at Colby College. “Restorative Justice in Cases of Serious Harm” was a free public event which explored approaches in Maine being developed by survivors of serious harm and those who have caused serious harm to promote community-based responses based in Restorative Justice rather than carceral punishment.
This event featured guest speakers Marlee Liss (Survivors 4 Justice Reform), Brandon Brown, Sarah Mattox, Kage Johnson, Leslie Ross, Maeghan Maloney, Tina Nadeau, Jason Trundy, Karen Wyman, Fowsia Musse, and Rilwan Osman. Culminating with a presentation by Danielle Sered (author of Until We Reckon). We look forward to participating in the many meaningful collaborations that have been inspired by this incredible event.
